This Flash-based learning object was built to allow students in Sandi Watkins COIN 63 class to practice identifying and correcting some common Cascading Style Sheet (CSS) errors. It displays a simulation of the the browser and coding environments and provides interactive feedback and hints in response to student input.

If you do not see the example below, you may need to download the Flash plug-in from Macromedia.

The Debugging Simulator:

Use the Interactive Debugging Simulator below to practice debugging a variety of common CSS mistakes.
In this exercise, you will do the following:

  1. Read comments from the client.
  2. Examine the client’s web page in Internet Explorer 5.1 and Netscape 4.7.
  3. Identify errors in CSS coding.
  4. Fix the CSS error

If the Simulator does not appear below, or if it does not function properly, try reloading the page in your browser. If that does not fix the problem, you may need to download the Flash Player.

Here is a text description of the Debugging Simulator (accessable to screen readers). It will open in a new window. To return to this page you will need to close the new window that appears.
