This searchable online database made for the English 8 Children's Literature course, where students share information about books, Web sites, movies, and more. This is a flatfile PERL cgi writing to text files on a linux server. It was built using an on-line wizard at the Flattext site, and then the generic input and search result forms were modified to reflect the instructor's preferences.

Children's Literature Archive Database Input Form
DEMO

This form is used to enter information about any type of book or other media production of interest to members of the ENGL 08 class. You may test the database by making as many entries as you like (you will have to submit them one by one). Your entries will go to a test database, not the one used by the actual class. You must enter a last name or you will not be allowed to complete your submission. In use, only the instructor will have access to student name information. Individual names will not be included in the data returned when searching the database.

Try to include as much information as possible and complete all fields appropriate to your entry. This will make it easier for others to retrieve meaningful results from a search. When you have completed entering the data, post it to the database using the button at the bottom of the form. Even if you don't post an entry of your own, you can search the archive for specific topics, keywords, media types, authors, etc. or to review your entries once they are posted.
