Meeting Maker upgrade to version 8.5

The District recently upgraded to Meeting Maker 8.5. Whenever there is a new version of software it takes a while to get accustomed to how it operates compared to the old version. And boy, did we hear from you! Full story

Brio upgrade and MAUI replacement tool

ETS will soon acquire a new software query and reporting tool that will enable the District to upgrade current Brio Query users to the latest version. This new tool will also enable and leverage existing knowledge and experience with Brio to develop MAUI replacement reports much more quickly and efficiently than with competing tools. Full story

Foothill and De Anza material to be available on iTunes U

Both Foothill and De Anza have been selected by Apple to use its iTunes Music Store for distribution of mediated learning materials. This is an exciting opportunity for faculty, students and the general public to access free audio and video material to use for teaching and learning. Full story

Before you buy that software

The District has special agreements in place with Adobe for software licensing and maintenance. So before you buy the latest Adobe or Macromedia software at Fry's Electronics for your department or division, be sure to check to see if the software you need is covered by these agreements. Later this fall, ETS plans to roll out online employee time reports for all classified staff and their supervisors, to be followed by online time reports for managers. Full story

Question:

Lately I have not been able to send FHDA email from home. Is there a problem with the District's email servers? Answer

Question:

Why am I getting email messages from "MAILER-DAEMON" with a subject of "**Message you sent blocked by our bulk email filter**"? The body of the message says I sent a message to someone I don't even know, when I know I didn't sent such a message! What's going on? Answer

In a meeting with Purchasing, I learned that not only hardware purchases need to go through ETS, but software purchases as well. Why is that? Answer
