• Produce customized graphics and illustrations to fit specific subjects.
• Produce Flash animation to support instruction of key topics
• Brainstorm with the instructor, to generate ideas on how to build
interaction in to online instruction
• Provide tips on Web design.
• Optimize and improve the look of existing online courses.

Background

Ana Gamaza is a graphics and animation designer for the instructional development group of ETS (Educational Technology Services)
at Foothill – De Anza Community College district.
She started this position in May, 2000.

 

Some of the projects she’s been involved in are:

• Interactive graphics and animation for first online Introduction to College (Counseling 100) course at De Anza
• Interactive graphics and animation for online Children’s Literature (Engl 8) course at Foothill
• Interactive graphics and animation of new course, Applied Pharmacology in Dentistry, offered online in the Dental Hygiene program at Foothill
• Designed the ETS website and ETS logo.

Ana's background as a graphic designer goes back to 1986 in the television and entertainment industry in Los Angeles, were she started her career as a story board artist.

Later she developed short animations for Sesame Street and National Geographic.

As a textile designer, working for the Los Angeles Fashion Industry,
she created patterns used by USA and Canada Olympic teams.

In 1999 she moved to the Bay area to work as a digital artist in the field of education.
